To use your mobile/cell phone in Halifax, you must ensure that your cell phones from your country can operate on GSM frequency of 1900 MHz. Ask your mobile telephone provider in your country if your mobile phone can work in 1900 frequency mode. If you bring your own mobile phone, you can purchase a SIM card and telephone time from any cell phone provider in Halifax.
